Part Time - Freelance Contractor
Developer / Testing / DevOps / Data / Security / UX / Product / Agile
This Part Time flexible position reports to our Apprenticeship and Training Lead and is a really unique opportunity to make a change for good by improving the quality of skills in the Tech sector.
We are looking to recruit an industry competent professional in who is interested in training the next generation of digital talent.
If you are looking for your first step into training and coaching or if you already have some experience in the field, we would love to hear from you. There will be some flexibility to work remotely but the majority of the training will be in-person teaching in offices in Leeds city centre.
There may also be opportunities to travel within the region and work occasional weekends.
We often attend events, camps and conferences and sprints and run community events such as meetups and hackathons.
The Coders Guild is committed to empowering people to achieve their full potential. We believe that CVs only tell us what you have done and not what you are capable of; so whilst we welcome CV’s, we would love to hear about any of the following either on your CV or in your application.
All of our technical trainers are people who are currently working in the fields they train.
Ideally you will have some experience delivering training previously. Maybe to colleagues or perhaps in a more formal setting, this could be on educational programs or training/mentoring colleagues or clients in the workplace.
If you do, that would be great, but we also have the resources and people to help you make those first steps into delivering real value with training and coaching.
The most important thing is that you have knowledge and experience that you would like to share.
We are looking for people who have a real passion for the industry and want to share that passion with the next wave of people looking to work in the industry.
Our associate trainers work with us alongside other jobs or contracts.
Our Coordination staff are a point of contact to schedule times for training that match our obligations to learners and facilitate flexible delivery patterns for our training staff. Training is usually delivered in 3-hour blocks or 6-hour days.
Training is often remotely delivered and typically in the evenings from 6-9pm.
All training is already created and prepared by TCG but is also subject to constant review and improvement. We rely on our associate trainers to
improve and maintain the relevance and currency of our training materials by collecting feedback from learners and suggesting enhancements themselves.
All associate trainers must have an awareness of the importance of personal data security and be committed to quality and quality processes.
We will equip you with the skills needed to deliver courses and can support progression into senior training roles to grow as a trainer, with reviews and action plans to help you progress your teaching/training skills. You will receive training in essential training skills and our methodology as well as mandatory knowledge on learner care such as data protection, Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding and Prevent.
