Who this is for

Who this is for

Doers. People who already use Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot every day and have hit the ceiling of what one person prompting in a tab can do. You want cleaner data, processes that have actually been looked at before they’re automated, and automations that keep working after the novelty wears off.

This stays firmly at the level of you and your team – it’s about improving how the work gets done, not organisational strategy.

You’ll get the most out of it with Foundations-level fluency. That doesn’t have to mean the AI Foundations course, but if you’re not yet confident using the tools in your own work, start there first. And if your job is deciding what the business does about AI rather than building it, AI for Leaders asks the same questions at a different altitude.

What Will You Learn

  • Connect AI to the tools you already use – and understand exactly what access you’re granting before you grant it
  • Get messy real-world business data into usable shape, and know when to distrust what AI tells you about it
  • Map processes properly and find the real bottleneck before automating anything
  • Scope, pilot and measure a piece of AI work, with honest before-and-after numbers
  • Build working multi-step automations with triggers, conditional logic and error handling

Plus: a personal learning plan you build in session one and carry through the six weeks.

Format

Six weekly sessions, delivered remotely in small groups with an expert instructor. The week between sessions is deliberate: you go away, apply it to your own work, and bring back what happened. From session two, each session opens with group coaching on how your takeaway task went.

The six sessions: building your learning plan and learning buddy; connectors, context and permissions; cleaning and understanding business data; mapping processes and finding bottlenecks; running an AI project properly; and setting up workflow automation with conditional logic and error handling.

Outcomes

This course was built by the team that led the R&D with Skills England to create the UK’s Level 4 AI and Automation Apprenticeship. We run our own business on Claude and other AI tools – the automations we teach are the kind we actually run.

Entirely practical and tool-agnostic. Bring Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or whatever you’re already using.

A hands-on AI automation course for people who already use AI daily and want to build things that stick. Clean up messy business data, map and improve real processes, and leave with working automations – plus the evidence to show what they’ve changed. You’ll need Foundations-level fluency, but not a technical background.

Individual outcomes

  • Confident building multi-step automations around your actual role, with error handling so they survive contact with reality
  • A mapped, improved process with honest before-and-after numbers
  • The judgement to know what to connect, what to automate, and what to leave alone

Team outcomes

  • Real processes mapped, understood and improved – not just sped up
  • Less manual, repetitive work across the tools you already pay for
  • Improvements you can evidence to the rest of the business, not just claim

What’s in the course?

Session 1 – Course Intro, Learning Plan and Learning Buddy

Course map, icebreaker, and building a personal learning project and plan you’ll carry through the six weeks.

Session 2 – Connectors, Context and Permissions

Connecting AI to the tools you already use. What access you’re actually granting, least-privilege setup, and how to feed the right context in without handing over the business.

Session 3 – Cleaning and Understanding Business Data

Getting messy real-world data into usable shape, spotting quality problems, summarising and analysing at speed, and knowing when to distrust the output.

Session 4 – Mapping Processes and Finding Bottlenecks

Process mapping with swimlanes and SIPOC, then fishbone and five whys to find where the real problem is before automating anything.

Session 5 – Running an AI Project

Scoping, baselining, piloting and measuring. Capturing honest before-and-after numbers so improvements can be evidenced rather than claimed.

Session 6 – Setting Up Workflow Automation

Triggers, actions, filters and paths. Building working multi-step automations, introducing conditional logic and loops, and error handling.

Employers

Putting a team through? You can book up to 12 places directly with the Book Now button. But if you’re committing several people at this level, it’s worth a quick conversation first – about who to send, whether everyone’s ready for it, and whether a closed course on your own dates makes more sense. That’s what this is for.

FAQs

FAQs

Do I need a technical background?
No, but this isn’t a beginner course. You should already be using AI tools comfortably in your day-to-day work. If you’re not there yet, start with AI Foundations – it exists exactly for that.
Whatever your business already uses. Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot – everything we cover works across the main tools. A paid plan on your chosen tool gets you the most from the course, and we’ll tell you exactly what you need before you start.
Remote delivery via video call, in small groups. Instructor-led and hands-on, with coaching on your own work built into every session from week two.
Yes – book multiple places directly, or ask us about a closed course run just for your business on your own dates. For a team of doers, training together means your automations connect to the same processes rather than living in silos.
Intermediate covers similar ground to the early months of our Level 4 AI and Automation Apprenticeship, condensed into six weeks. If you want the full depth – with coaching, a portfolio and a qualification – the apprenticeship is the stronger route, and it’s government-funded for most employers. Worth a conversation before you decide.
