The Coders Guild and Women in Games: A Partnership for Positive Change

Partnering with Women in Games is hugely meaningful to us at The Coders Guild. Supporting the advancement of women in gaming and eSports isn t just about recognising the challenges it s about taking concrete action to address them. Too often, we see agreement on the issues but little follow-through. This partnership is our commitment to real change. We know the barriers for women in games are complex, from under-representation, to lack of mentorship and gender discrimination, but that makes our efforts even more crucial. It s time for all of us to move beyond lip service and actively provide support, spaces, and mentorship to women in games for a better, more creative and inclusive gaming industry.

About Women in Games

Women in Games is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2009 with the mission to advocate for more women in the gaming and esports sectors. Since its inception, Women in Games has grown into a powerful community, providing safe spaces for women to exchange ideas, support each other, and develop strategies to counter harassment and discrimination both online and in the workplace.

Shared Values and Common Goals

The Coders Guild and Women in Games share a vision of a more inclusive and diverse gaming industry. We believe that having more women in gaming leads to stronger teams, better insights, and innovative new products. This partnership allows us to work together towards these goals, supporting each other's initiatives and amplifying our impact.

As education ambassadors for Women in Games, we actively participate in and promote their events and projects. This collaboration enables us to highlight the incredible work being done by women in the gaming industry and to support efforts to address the significant gender imbalance that still exists.

The Impact of Our Collaborative Efforts

Being aligned with Women in Games has been incredibly rewarding for The Coders Guild. It not only ensures our training remains inclusive and responsive to industry needs but also provides invaluable insight into best practices and keeps us accountable to our mission. It also helps us stay connected to other like-minded organisations so that together, we are making strides towards a more equitable gaming industry.

Our partnership with Women in Games also allows us to celebrate their achievements, support their mission, and work towards our shared goal of increasing diversity and inclusion in the gaming sector. By combining our efforts, we are better equipped to make a meaningful impact and inspire more women to pursue careers in gaming and esports.

If you believe you can help Women in Games in their mission or if they can help you, we encourage you to get in touch with them. Additionally, if you are part of a similar organisation looking to collaborate, please reach out to us. Together, we can make a significant impact on the future of the gaming industry.
