What You ll Learn
Being able to build web applications using the JAMStack is a skill-set which is in high demand among employers right now, and that demand is only set to continue rising in 2021 and beyond.
With that in mind, this course is ideal for anyone with a basic knowledge of HTML and CSS looking to embrace the future of coding and move forward into a more engaging and successful career.
JAMstack is an architecture designed to make the web faster, more secure, and easier to scale. It builds on many of the tools and workflows which developers love, and which bring maximum productivity. This includes foundational computer science concepts.
On this course, we ll be recapping the fundamentals of HTML and CSS, as well as teaching accessibility and Responsive Web Design principles for creating an optimal Web Page experience. Then we ll look at solving problems with JavaScript, and explore the programming languages, tools, and frameworks which you ll use to master the skills of modern software development. This will also cover concepts like object-oriented programming and working with Data Structures, though not necessarily relational databases in depth.
This is a course for people wanting to move to the next level in coding to launch a new career. Whether you re just getting started and have dabbled in HTML and CSS before, or are already working in a basic developer role in different programming languages, this is a great opportunity to learn valuable new skills fast for web design.
Course Details
When will the bootcamps run?
- The bootcamps will run between January and March, and between April and July
- Each bootcamp lasts 12 weeks, and is part-time (roughly between 8 and 16 hours per week on average)
Where will they be held?
- These bootcamps will be delivered entirely remotely, helping you continue to learn and develop despite the restrictions of lockdown
- We will hold a mixture of instructor-led seminars, interactive group training sessions, more general webinars, and work to do in your own time
How will you take part?
- A mixture of teaching and training in small groups
- Some work to be done in your own time
- Challenge-based problem solving applicable in future jobs, focusing on building a functional web project
- Primarily self-driven learning for your own long-term benefit
